COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS

Finance:

  • In charge of money collections, bank accounts and bookkeeping
  • Prepares budgets
  • Seeks funding to meet future company plans and goals, grant application
  • Organizes the proper letters/flyers in seeking of donations/membership from the public and area businesses (renew and new)
  • Seeks donations of any kind; execution of short term fundraising events
  • Keeps records of members (at large and sponsors)
  • Prepares annual program
  • Tickets for major productions
  • Plans and executes scholarship fundraising drives
  • Sets application procedure

Public Relations:

  • Writing and distributing press releases and all company advertisements (posters, flyers, placemats, newsletters, etc.)
  • Publicizing all major events; local papers, radio, television, social networking
  • Organizes necessary photos and schedules photo sessions (submit price quotes for photo shoots and reprints to President)
  • Posts performance dates
  • Video taping of shows
  • Newsletters
  • Handout of programs at performances
  • Communication of detailing of scheduled performances
  • Coordinates volunteers as needed for specific events
  • Outreach programs
  • Overall business relations; serves as connection between company and community

Planning:

  • Organizes the future objectives of the company – short and long term
  • Urges parental involvement (guild)
  • Responsible for library and educational materials
  • Sets annual and long-range calendars
  • In charge of scheduling guests classes/seminars
  • Handles all correspondences and accommodations of guests
  • Secures payment to guest teachers through the treasurer
  • In charge of supplying refreshments at meetings and performances
  • Sets up for meeting
  • Brings warmth and hospitality to meetings and receptions

Production/Technical

  • Develops stage backgrounds/scenery for all major performances
  • Coordinates stage crew and technical staff during shows
  • Maintains satisfactory performance conditions
  • Transports necessary equipment to and from performances
  • Equipment repairs and manages storage areas

Company Detailing

  • Costuming:
    1. Organizes costuming and shoes included sewing staff (sews, alters, cleans, finds/creates costumes)
    2. Responsible for transportation of costumes to and from performances, storage and overall care of costumes
  • Make-Up/Hair:
    1. Handles performance preparation of dancers (hair, make-up, uniform dress, etc.)
    2. Gives application and training of performance preparation to dancers
  • Backstage:
    1. Organizes backstage changing rooms for dancers at performances including dressers, runner and other necessary staff
    2. Organizes check up station for attendance/appearance
    3. Backstage set-up and clean-up
  • Communication:
    1. Distribution of proper cover-ups to members
    2. In charge of cover-up orders for members
    3. Photo session preparation of dancers
    4. Proper thank you’s through secretary
    5. Telephone calls to secure necessary volunteers
    6. Notices to members who fail to meet performance requirements (submit copy to artistic directors prior to distribution
