CommUnity Impact Intiatives
Free performances for
Columbus City School students
The arts are important for the development of imagination, critical thinking, problem solving, and working together. Every season we produce a show for families and children to teach lessons of life in a fun, artistic way. In order to keep providing this to our community we need sponsors to help with costs of the theatre, lighting, costumes, and professional performers that the children get to interact with. Teachers and students alike have shared the positive impact this program has had on the participants.
OYO ACCESS TICKET PROGRAM
We believe that the arts are critical for everyone, including those who may struggle to afford tickets. We acknowledge the universal need for arts experiences and strive to offer the hope, imagination, and sense of community that our performances provide to all members of our community.
Oyo Dance company provides free tickets for residents of Franklin County, Ohio who receive WIC, SNAP, or Medicaid benefits. Oyo believes that access to arts experiences should be available to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. For information on how to apply and answers to Frequently Asked Questions, click here. Collaborative Arts Workshops
with Other Artists
We partner with artists from many disciplines to bring the CommUnity Workshop series to Columbus! Featuring glass blowing, healing drum circles, singing bowls, visual arts, and more, these unique experiences provide a space for joy, healing, and the development of coping skills while deepening our connections to each other and our community. These workshops are low- or no-cost opportunities for attendees.
Tickets for Non-Profits and
Social Service Agencies
Oyo provides tickets to non-profit social service groups (group homes, assisted living, shelters, etc.) that wish to bring clients or residents to our performances. Please contact us at least two weeks in advance of the event to ensure ticket availability!
